The international BDO network was established in 1963 by three European offices ( the first letter of each of the three founder's names make up the logo of today's network: Binder (UK), Dijker (NL), Otte (D), an American and a Canadian firm. BDO today is one of the largest Auditing, Accountancy and Consultancy companies in the world.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall management of the Group, guards the strategy and keeps BDO’s long term vision on edge. The Board of Directors is composed of a Chairman, the CEO, and 6 members: Johan Vandenbroeck (Chairman), Peter Van Laer (CEO), Karen Keuleers, Hennie Herijgers, Alexandre Streel, Fabrice Grognard, Pieter-Jan Pattyn and Frederik De Roo.

The ExCo is responsible for the daily management of BDO. The interaction between the Board of Directors and the ExCo is assured by Peter Van Laer (CEO). The following Managing Partners represent the different Business Lines: Veerle Catry (A&A), Dirk Vandendaele (A&R), Erwin Boumans (T&L), Alexander Veithen (Financial Advisory) and Koen Claessens (Management Advisory).

In accordance with the law on the organization of the Office of Auditors, BDO yearly issues a transparency report. The intent of the transparency declaration is to inform all stakeholders involved about the legal structure, the internal organization, the quality controls and the network.
