Green Mobility

Companies must take action today towards greener mobility if they are not to be presented with the bill within five years.

When reforming the corporate tax system in 2017, our legislator had already drastically reformed the deductibility of company cars. As a result, we have already noticed that up to 25% more car costs are included in the rejected expenses of the  corporate income tax return.

And now, due to a number of new interventions by our tax legislator, the bill for fossil fuel company cars will become unaffordable for many companies by 2026. It is therefore important to take timely action and take a closer look at the current fleet. What is the current cost price of my company car fleet and what will the cost price be in 3 to 5 years? Which alternatives are possible and how can I adapt my current fleet?

Only those who convert their fleet, and make a number of investments to do so, will benefit from a number of (temporary) tax advantages.

The search for newer and greener mobility also offers many opportunities. The war for talent is one of them. It is reported that 70% of Millennials prefer to work for companies with strong sustainability agendas, and this will even be a top priority for Generation Z. Offering an attractive salary package with more sustainable options, plays a crucial role in this. Employees are no longer looking for a standard salary package but rather a customized one. Depending on where you live, your family situation, etc., you can choose amongst different options within the same budget.

Our legal and tax consultants will gladly take on this challenge together with your company, based on their expertise. Starting from the current cost price of the salary package, an alternative remuneration package is put together in consultation, taking into account the financial and fiscal impact, as well as the social and labour law aspects.
